OUR STORY

OUR STORY

Rhea is the founding director and a mother to two daughters, Neve and Mila, who brighten her life daily. Married to her talented husband, Gareth, they live on the South Coast of NSW. The family enjoys off-grid camping, coffee, and sunrises on secluded east coast beaches.

Rhea aims for her daughters to become explorers, marking significant moments on their maps and sharing their stories with others. As a qualitative child well-being researcher, she shifted from child protection to academia to improve evidence-based practices in child safety. Her Research Masters focused on children's narratives of well-being, and her PhD explores children's experiences when a parent is diagnosed with cancer.

Diagnosed with breast cancer at 34, Rhea witnessed the impact on her children, noting a lack of resources to explain the situation. This led to the creation of Story Society, providing accessible, child-focused resources to help families navigate a loved one’s cancer diagnosis.

Story Society aims to foster family conversations through creative, play-based tools, emphasizing the importance of listening to children's voices during challenging times.
